It’s in the Bag Saturday: Weekly Favorites #4

Hello my beauties! I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend! Going out or staying in, make it awesome. Today I’m here to tell you about my favorite pieces from this week. We not only have makeup and beauty products but I also have a few random bits as well. I have family coming in this weeked and I am so excited because they are here until Wednesday. My dad and my uncle are putting some new doors up to make it easier for me to get in and out of rooms in our house in my wheelchair. Right now I have to use two chairs because of narrow doorways, one for in the house and one for when I am out and about. Enough rambling, onto the favorites!

Random Bits

I thought I would do it a little different and do my random favorites first and then my beauty favorites. My first favorite is Castbox podcasts. I just started listening to podcasts consistently since December. This week, and the past few weeks actually, I have been loving two podcasts especially. I’ve been loving Kalyn’s Coffee Talk and Earn Your Happy with Lori Harder. They are both really inspirational and have a wide range of topics.

I’ve also finally found a protein bar brand that I really like. I think that most protein bars taste like dust or too fake. The ones that I love are called ‘RxBar’ and they have a good amount of flavors. The one I’ve really been loving recently is the BlueBerry one and they have 12 grams of protein in one bar which is fantastic because I know I need to eat in the morning or else I’m sick all day but 98% of the time I don’t like breakfast. This, I can grab it and eat it while I’m working. It’s not crumbly or granola-y so it doesn’t make a mess while you’re eating it either. I bought mine at Target but I think they are in most chain grocery stores.

Beauty Bits

I’m so proud of myself, I was able to really streamline my favorites this month so there’s not twenty of them. some of these are in my Project Pan and will be marked with a (P.P.) just so you can keep track of that too. I think I will break these into four and four.

First the ‘Magic is in the Air’ Bath and Body Works body lotion, I’m not usually one to like these lotions from anywhere because they are so, for lack of a better word, light. I prefer heavier and creamier lotions, my favorite being the Argan Oil Body Butter from The Body Shop because it is so thick and gorgeous and has a great scent. Next up is the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder (P.P.), I love how soft this feels when I apply it. I really using this to bake my face but I also use it to set my face in general. It gives a nice finish to the face, you don’t look flat or dusty you just look finished and smooth. I got this next product at Marshalls so I don’t know if they still make them but I got the Stila Color Balm Lipstick in ‘Emma’ which is pinky peachy nude. I initially bought it just because of the name, how often do you find your name on makeup?! Since I just got it for the name I wasn’t expecting to actually like the product but I really do! It’s minty and gives your lips a little tingle and gives it just a slight wash of color. I put this on right before I start doing my makeup so that it can give a bit of hydration to my lips without it using my heavy Carmex. Finally we have MAC’s Jest frost eyeshadow single (P.P.). I have had this eyeshadow for forever and a day but I only recently realized what it is perfect for. It is the perfect shade and finish for the inner corner and brow bone. I’ve found that even if I’m using a palette that has a designated ‘brow bone and inner corner highlight’, I find myself reaching for this. I put this in my pan just because I had had it for so long that I wanted it gone but now, when I finish it, I may actually replace it with the same thing. This works really well for lighter skin tones for the brow bone especially.

This week something happened that I never thought would. I fell in love with a non-glittery blush. I’m talking about the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade ‘Paaarty’. This is one of, if not the only, neutral blush I have. I decided to try it this past week and it is gorgeous on the cheeks! It’s one of those types of blushes that just enhances your natural beauty. There is no glitter in this but it does have a sort of sheen to it so it’s not matte or flat. This was a birthday gift from Sephora. Next is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on eyeliner in ‘Smoke’. This week I wanted to stray from my beloved ‘Perversion’ liner and I saw this in my drawer and went for it. It’s a charcoal that is halfway between medium grey and black. It helps to give your eyes definition without the harshness that a black eyeliner can give. I got this in one of those multi packs of deluxe size mascaras that they used to do a lot, especially around the holidays. The Colourpop Supershock Shadow in ‘Amaze’ (P.P.) is one of my favorite supershock shadows from the brand. It’s a fawn like brown color with a fair amount of glitter in it. I love their supershock shadows with glitter because then I never seem to have any fallout. This is one of the first shadows that I ever purchased from Colourpop and it’s also one of my all time favorites from them. Once this is gone, I will be repurchasing it without a question. Finally, I have a perfume for you. The Elizabeth and James Nirvana French Grey perfume rollerball is my most recent addition to my Nirvana Rollerball collection. You can read the haul post from when I got it here. I also have Nirvana Black and Nirvana White. The Black was my first one and after getting it I was hooked. I had to search high and low to find the White rollerball because when I went to get it at the past VIB sale, I was hit with the reality that they were no longer carrying that scent at Sephora in the rollerball. When looking for that I saw the French Grey and I loved the notes listed, so I kept the scent on my radar and my last Sephora (online) trip I decided to get it. This week I have been wearing it non-stop since the day it arrived on my doorstep. I love the addition of lavender to this one, it gives a slightly floral scent but not one that is overpowering all of the other scents.

Have you tried anything on this list? I’d love to hear your thoughts and what your favorites were this week. Don’t forget: Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be YOU!!  Because you is the most beautiful you there is. 👧💋
