This past week, I didn’t have many places to go so very little makeup was worn. Instead of being makeup/ beauty heavy, I have quite a few non-beauty things. I kind of liked picking my favorite ‘non-beauty’ things that I really loved this week, it felt refreshing. If you like it, I’ll try to include some ‘non-beauty’ things every Saturday. Let’s jump in!

I figured, let’s start with the makeup. The foundation I’ve worn every day I wore makeup this week is the Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation in 150 ‘Buff’. This is definitely a full coverage foundation, just as the tin says. It’s a pretty small tube, though, and it’s not the cheapest thing in the world either. But right now I’m enjoying it. It is a matte finish but because it’s so thick and heavy, my skin doesn’t dry out. Next is the bronzer that I used, which is the Tarte Park Ave Princess bronzer. I have the deluxe size and this is also a product that is in my project pan. If you want to hear about that, click here and it will take you to the post on my blog 👌 I like this bronzer because it has a nice sheen to it that isn’t overpowered by glitter. Don’t get me wrong, I love glitter in most of my makeup just not my bronzer. I really loved the pairing of the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in ‘Diamond Milk’ and the Urban Decay Creme lipstick in ‘Naked’. The Urban Decay lipstick is one of the most perfect nudes I’ve ever found that have worked for me and I love gloss and since this was clear and glittery (see?) I thought I would try them together. It was so hydrating and not really all that sticky which I appreciated. I just put the gloss in the very center of my lips and rubbed my lips together to get an even spread of the product. It was a nice, slightly amped, natural look. Finally, I got the Maybelline x NIKKIETUTORIALS highlighter and OMFG I am blown away. It is one of the most gorgeous highlighters I’ve ever used and I was even more blown because it came out of the drugstore! I don’t even know how to describe the color, I guess you could say it’s kind of a white gold sort of color. From what I’ve seen applying it on myself is that it is really buttery, not packed with glitter, and is great for fairer skin tones.

Now onto the more skincare and miscellaneous beauty bobbles. I’ve been using the Bee ZZZ’s Sleep & Stress Balm from Botanicals by the Sea for many years. It’s a solid balm that you sort of just rub and then put the product on your pulse points. I also put it under my nose for added comfort. I’ve really been loving The Body Shop’s Argan Oil Body Butter especially with the colder weather and all of the rain. This is nice and thick and has a really light lovely scent. I use it all over, any area that is dry. This past couple of weeks I’ve been using my Clairsonic Mia 2 that I got many years ago. I used it on and off for awhile but only recently have I been using it at least twice every week. Right now I am using the Acne brush head, but I just bought the Radiance and Deep Cleaning brush heads to mix it up. I’m so glad I bought this a few years ago because now I really love it. To tone my face after using toner on a cotton round, I use the Mario Badescu Chamomile and Lavender face mist to provide one layer of hydration before I go in with my creams. I’ll also use it during a hot day just to refresh myself. I used Rose one for the longest time but when he came out with this one, I couldn’t get my hands on it fast enough. I just bought the full size bottle because I was using the 4oz since I didn’t know if I would like it. Well, I liked it- lol. Finally, the perfume I’ve used every day this week. The Juicy Couture Original perfume which is also in my project pan. I bought this from a Marshalls many years ago and I still have a bit left. I’m hoping to have this finished off by the end of the year. Now, onto the miscellaneous category.

I got this sweater at Torrid during Christmas on the Clearance rack. I’m a massive Doctor Who fan and I snatched it up immediately. Not this past week, more this past month, you would find me wrapped in this working on cards or here. It’s an oversized sweater and it’s nice and cozy. I’ve even slept in it when it’s been colder at night.
I’ve been binge watching two shows this past week, Doctor Who and Once Upon a Time both of which I started from the beginning. I am able to escape in both of these shows and forget about life for awhile. Stories that you can become absorbed in are the absolute best.
These are the two books I’ve been working on this week from my pile of ‘Currently Reading’ section in my Goodreads account. I’d love to see what you’re reading on there too, so follow the link and give me a follow so I can see your book loves! The Five Second Rule by Mel Robbins is something I’m actually listening to on Audible with my Aunt for our two person book club. The second book is something I picked a few months ago but I just now got round to reading it. It’s very truthful and very helpful. If you’re a twenty something woman, I would suggest checking this book out.

Finally, I’ve really been enjoying the Headspace app. Yes I love Instagram and Twitter but this has really caught my attention. Besides this app there has only ever been one person who could get me to calm down enough to try to meditate. I’m only doing three or five minute sessions at a time, but I really think learning this technique will prove to be very helpful in my future.
That’s all folks! I’d love to know what some of your favorites from this week or month are so pop them in the comments below. If you liked what you read, please give me a follow. You’ll be updated on all of my postings and I’ll be forever grateful. And don’t forget: Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be YOU!! Because you is the most beautiful you there is.

[…] and happy late at night. Two completely different genres but they work for me all the same. Last week I talked about two podcasts I was really loving and this week I have one I have recently discovered- Fat Mascara. It truly is a […]
