Hello my beauties! As you’re reading this I am most likely finishing up the first crew work call for the spring musical. Since I knew I’d be wiped, I’ve scheduled this- I hope you don’t mind. This week’s favorites cover a wide variety of areas, so let’s jump in shall we?
Skincare

I had some skincare favorites this week, which used to never happen. If you’re curious about what my skincare routine entails, you should check out my last blog post. What I really loved this week is my brand new Liberex Acne Pimple Patches. Now, I don’t know how the compare to the one’s from Sephora everyone is raving about but for me, they worked wonderfully. Trust me, I was a true sceptic until I actually tried it and I was an Acne Dot convert, so to speak. I’ve been using the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Vanilla that I picked up from Sephora in January every night since I’ve gotten my hands on it. It’s a bit oilier than I usually prefer but it’s also thick like I prefer, so that makes the extra oil manageable. Third, we have probably my most favorite facial oil, the Tarte Maracuja Oil. It’s not heavy on the skin and it sinks in fairly quickly so that it doesn’t stall my skincare routine in the evening. I’m actually toying with the fact of using it for morning too but the more I think about it the more I’m against it. We shall see.
Hair

If you’ve seen my pictures on Instagram or in previous posts you would know that I have very short hair. My favorite thing to do with my hair is spike it and give it intense volume. My favorite sculpting paste is the Redken Shape Factor 22. It’s very thick and has the most incredible hold. By the end of the day my hair can be crunchy but since I would be washing my hair soon anyway, I really didn’t mind. I use the Big Sexy Hair Powder Play which is a volumizing and texturising powder. I have to be really careful because it is so easy to overdo it, just a few gentle taps will do. Now, my most FAVORITE DRY SHAMPOO– Rock Your Hair’s ‘Spray it Clean’ Dry Shampoo! I picked up two cans when I went to Beauty Con quite a few years ago. It quickly became my favorite dry shampoo and one of the only ones that really works on my hair. It is a little pricey but I really think it is totally worth it. If you want to check them out, click here and you’ll be taken to their main site. Their prices are definitely worth it, trust me!
Body Care

I really love the L’Occitane Sweet Almond lotions and oils but they are very expensive. Then I heard through the grapevine that the Crabtree and Evelyn Sweet Almond scent was comparable. I didn’t want to buy it without smelling it because of what happened with the oil. Enter Marshalls and I just stumble upon a whole display of the Crabtree and Evelyn lotions and this was one of the scents among them! The scent is spot on and I’m a happy camper. Now, the Sweet Almond Oil, I bought from Amazon let me down at first because it didn’t smell like either of the aforementioned products but it has become a favorite of mine to put on right after I take a shower and it makes my skin super smooth! So I’ll take this as a win win situation.
Makeup

The first piece of makeup that made it into my weekly favorites is the Perception palette from the Shayla X Colourpop collaboration. I actually did a post going from day to night using this palette. If you’d like to check that out, click here. This is a gorgeous and colorful palette as well as being super pigmented and buttery. This was my first foray into Colourpop palettes and I am really impressed. I finally showed up to the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink party. I can’t believe I’m just discovering these lippies. I have the color 125 ‘Inspirer’ and it has the one of the best staying powers of matte lips I’ve tried. I’ve also opened my L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black and the Voluminous Base and I’m so glad I got both of these. They really make my lashes look really full and gorgeous and the base is great under other mascaras, drugstore and high end alike. Finally, something I thought that would never happen- I’ve fallen head over heels for a drugstore highlighter! I’m talking about the Maybelline collab with NikkieTutorials. This is the perfect highlighter for fair skin, but it’s only available at Ulta. I ordered two back ups because I don’t think this will ever happen again and I’m pretty sure this is limited edition. The color is like a very pale Champagne or very light gold. Either way, it works and I’m so glad I took a chance and tried it.
Extras!

Book: The Light Over London by Julia Kelly. I chose this book as the next book my Aunt and I would listen to. It’s set mainly during WWII which is one of the eras I really enjoy learning about. I’m not far in but I already really love it and I am invested in the characters from an early stage.
Nails: Gel polish is the only way I can go chip free for more than a day and a half. I’ve started using the Red Carpet Nails at home gel system and polishes. I chose that red shade for Valentines day and it’s still on my nails, chip free for five days because I painted them on Tuesday.
Music: I used to listen to Rascal Flatts a lot when I was younger but I had drifted from it but recently I have drifted back. So right now it’s not musicals 100% of the time.
And there you have it, this week’s favorites! What have you been loving this week? I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Thanks for stopping by and reading, I’ll see you on Monday for Make It Up Monday!
