Hello my beauties and happy Monday! (Is there such a thing? hah!) For today’s look, I pulled out my Huda New Nudes palette that I got back in January. It is such a great palette, the shimmers, the glitters, the mattes, they’re all great! Today I started with my eyes instead of my face because of the possibility of fallout. Keep reading to see what look I came up with.

For my primer I used the NYX Proof It! eye primer that I set with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 003 ‘Natural’. I also used shadow shields to help keep the outer lines of my shadow clean and crisp. I started with the shade ‘Tickle’ (#1) that is a mid tone pink. I took this on a stiffer fluffy brush and ran it through my crease. I then took ‘Spanked’ (#2) which is like a mauvish pink and used that to deepen my outer corner and my crease. For that I used a Luxie Small Tapered Blending Brush (this may very well be my most favorite brush, I want to get more from Luxie) that wasn’t as stiff as the first brush I used. Then, all over my lid, I used ‘Fantasy’ (#3). These look like chunky glitter but they are really smooth and go on like a dream. I used the ‘C’ Brush from ELF Cosmetics, I also really like this brush- I own two. Then, for a little halo effect, I put ‘Daydream’ (#4) on the center of my lid. It was a little difficult to get this to layer over the first shimmery shade but once I found the right brush, a sort of ‘C’ brush but smaller and from Royal and Langnickel, it went on a lot nicer. Funny thing about that is, I own a set of their makeup brushes and their paint brushes for my watercoloring. They certainly are a versatile brand. For my brow bone and inner corner, though, I didn’t use a shade from the palette. Instead I used MAC ‘Jest’. I have discovered that is one of the best shadows for that job.

Now to my base. I used two primers today, I used the Cover FX Blurring Primer in my T-Zone and on my cheeks and then I used the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. I’m learning how to wear luminizing and glowy bases, I have the Dewy Fit Me! and the Becca Primer. For my foundation I used the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Fair. I know this is a CC cream but it has the coverage of a foundation. There is a citrusy scent but it dissipates as soon as it’s on your face. I have sensitive skin, especially when it comes to fragranced makeup, but this has never broken me out or given me any problem. I used my much loved Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Fair to add some much needed coverage under my eyes and on some smaller spots around my face. This may have been a tad excessive but I used three different setting powders. No, not a tad, it was excessive. I used the Rimmel Stay Matte in 003 Natural to set my under eye for a bit while I powdered the rest of my face with my Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder. I then used the Revolution Luxury Baking Powder in Lace to bake under my eyes, along my jaw bone, and in my T-Zone. They’ve just come out with a ‘Ghost’ baking powder that I’m very keen to try. Well, at least I knew my face wasn’t going anywhere.

I used the Benefit Boxed Blush ‘Rocketeur’ for this look so I would have a more natural look so that my eyes could take center stage. For bronzer, I used to NEVER wear bronzer, I used a deluxe trial size of the Tarte ‘Park Ave Princess’ to lightly bronze my face. I do this very lightly so it doesn’t look out of place with the gloomy winter weather. For some light contouring I used my Ulta Contour Kit using the color ‘Golden Bronzer’ to lightly carve out my cheek bones, jawline, and my nose. Then I got to use the NikkieTutorials highlighter I got when I signed up for the Allure Beauty Box. It’s got three of her highlighter colors in it, I believe they are Cloud 9 (white), Glazed Donut (light gold), and Glow Goals (Copper, I’m not sure this is the right one). This was specially made for Allure so unfortunately you can’t get it in stores.

Now for the finishing touches! For my brows I used the Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer in 300 Blonde and to set them I used the Essence lash and brow gel mascara in clear. It’s a very inexpensive piece but it works quite nicely. To line my eyes I used the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal liner in 005 Nude then, since I wanted to wear falsies, I used the Sistar Eye Contour Bold Liquid Liner in black to line my upper lash line. I did use a glitter liner in Stardust from Billion Dollar Brows and I put it in my crease to bring even more attention to my eyes. For my lashes I used Miss Adoro in #747M and attached them with the i-Envy lash glue by Kiss. To mesh my own lashes with the falsies I used my favorite Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I loved how dramatic a look it gave me. Finally for my lips I used the MAC Powder Kiss lipstick in 301 ‘A Little Tamed’. Keep your eyes peeled this week for a review of this lipstick and the formula!
