The show is finally open and now I can let things slowly get back to normal! Hello my beauties, how are you doing today? I just made a purchase during the Colourpop BYOP sale of my first of their single pressed shadows. Yes, I own (and love) the Perception palette but this is different. I was so excited to give these colors a try and I was most definitely not disappointed. I went with a warm tone palette with a selection of matte, glitter, shimmer, and so on. I’m pleased with how this look turned out, I hope you enjoy it too! Take a look then let’s get started!

These are all of the products I used in this look, a bit less than normal… right?

I finally tried a drugstore primer in the form of the Milani Prime Shield mattifying primer. For my base I used my Maybelline Superstay Foundation in 110 ‘Porcelain’. This has to be on of my all time favorite full cover drugstore foundations. I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark circle eraser in ‘Fair’ for my under eyes and then I used my new Revolution Conceal and Define in ‘C3’. Both of these are very creamy and they perform really well for me. The Revolution one is pretty new to me, so keep your eye out for a review in the coming weeks. To powder my face I use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in 003 ‘Natural’ to set my eyelids and under eyes and for my whole face I used my Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting powder. The blush I chose for this look is the very popular Milani baked blush in ‘Luminoso’. I can’t believe it took me so long to get up the courage to try this color! It is a stunning color for the spring. I then used a Milani baked bronzer in 04 ‘Glow’. I have to use a light hand with this because it can get orangey very quickly if applied to liberally. For my highlight I pulled out an old trusty favorite, Becca x Jaclyn Hill ‘Champagne Pop’. I use a light hand with this and build it up to blinding but I sometimes also use it subtly.

I finally found some courage and gave cream contouring a try using the Ulta Cream Contour palette that I found on sale in the store. I already had the powder version and liked it so I thought I would give this piece a try.

I wound up going with the second shade on the right. The lightest was just going to be too light I thought. I found it easiest to do it in sections. Do one cheek contour then blend, one side of the nose then blend. This way the color doesn’t have a chance to set before you can blend it in. I have found that this is also true with powder contours as well.

Next came the part I was so excited about, to try my new Colourpop shades! On my eyes I used the Maybelline City Matte palette (below) in my crease and then I used ‘Pretty Cruel’ (second from the top, far right) all over my lid and then I used ’20 Something’ (Bottom, second row from the left) in the inner two thirds of my eyelid. For the highlight in my brow bone and inner corner I used ‘Let me explain’ (top, second row from the left). It is a gorgeous very pale yellow gold. These shadows are so ridiculously pigmented I can’t wait to play with them even more! I used my NYX Proof It! eyeshadow primer and it really seemed to make a difference in the vibrancy and color pay off of the shadows when they were applied.

For the final little pieces, let’s talk brows, liner, and lips! For my eyebrows I used my Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil in ‘Blonde’ and then I used my Essence clear brow gel to set them in place. Next I line my top lid with a generic brown pencil I own that I unfortunately do not know the brand of or where to find it because it is really nice and creamy. For my lips I used my Colourpop lip liner in ‘Fetch’ to give my lips a bit of the shape they lack that I crave so much. I then used my Clinique Pop Liquid Matte lip colour and primer in ’01 Cake Pop’. The texture of this is amazing. I find it to be very light and a little bit mousey. It glides on to the lips beautifully and the flat pointed applicator makes it really easy to apply the product precisely.

There you have it! I really loved making this look and getting to play with my new shadows that actually arrived today. Did you take part in the sale? What did you get? I’d love to know! I’d love to chat with you, so leave it in the comments box. XO💕
