A Birthday Look

Today is my birthday so I decided to dress up and put on makeup and feel pretty. Completely understandable, right? I love dressing up on my birthday, even when I have no where to go. It always makes it seem even more special. I’ll show you the look and them tell you how it achieved it.

I have this blue summery dress that I got from Torrid last year around my birthday, and I love wearing it during the summer- it’s bright and fun. There are pink flowers all over the dress, they look like Cherry Blossoms to me, so I took that and ran with it.

For my primer I mixed my Too Faced Hangover RX and my Becca Backlight Priming Filter. One full pump of the Too Faced one and half a pump of Becca. This gives me a glow but not an oily slick mess kind of glow. For my foundation I chose to use my Amazonian Clay Foundation in ‘Fair Sand’. It’s got great coverage and applies smoothly to my skin. The concealer I used is the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer in C1. These concealers, I have two, have easily become my second and third favorite next to the Dark Circle Eraser. This covers really well but doesn’t look cakey or heavy.

To set under my eyes I used my Rimmel Stay Matte compact powder in 003 ‘Natural’. To powder my whole face I used my mini Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in ‘Butter’. It’s smooth and doesn’t make my skin look dry and dehydrated which is a bit plus.

For my blush I used two products. I used the ‘Blush’ color from the Natasha Denona Bloom and Glow palette. It’s a red color and definitely not something I would think I could wear being so fair. If I use a damp beauty sponge and gently dab it in the product then on my cheeks it gives a really gorgeous flush. Then after I powder my face I top it with my NARS Super Orgasm blush. For my contour today I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Light to Medium powder contour kit and I used the color ‘Fawn’. It’s not too warm and it’s not too cool on my skin either, for me it’s the perfect contour. To bronze my face I used my favorite Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade ‘Bronzer’ which is the second lightest shade. I use an ELF blending brush to apply it and I get the perfect diffused look. For my highlight i finally got to try the ‘Fire Crystal’ side of my Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter. Boy oh boy was I in for a surprise! Talk about packing a punch, this gives you GLOW. This is going to be fun 😊

For my eyes I used the Huda New Nude palette.
-Crease: Tickle
-Outer V: Spanked
-Lid: Daydream
For my waterline I used my Urban Decay eyeliner in ‘Midnight Cowboy’ and for my top lash line I used a dark bronze from an unknown brand (I always guess with these liners). Then to add a bit of sparkle, because I can never have enough sparkle, I used my Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in ‘Midnight Cowbow’. The base for all of this is the ‘Milk’ Jumbo Pencil by NYX. Obviously it’s not actually a primer but it’s one of my favorites still.

I used my sample of the new Too Faced ‘Damn Girl!’ mascara. I may like this more than the Better than Sex mascara that is one of my holy grails. Stay tuned, there will definitely be a review about this mascara- don’t you worry. For my lips I wore my Dior Addict Lacquer Stick in the color 877 ‘Turn me Dior’. It’s a very vibrant pink lipstick that is soft and glides on effortlessly. Can we talk about the packaging?? It’s so sleek and gorgeous and feels luxe when you pull it out of your purse.

To melt my makeup and meld it with my skin I use my MAC Prep and Prime spray from the ‘Boom Boom Bloom’ collection. It smells devine and I’m starting to see what everyone is going on about when they talk about this product. Today, since I wanted my makeup to last all day and all night I chose to use my Mehron Setting Spray that I got for the theater and got an extra for myself and I’m so pleased with how well it holds up.

That’s it for my birthday look! I felt so pretty when I went out today to treat myself to get my nails done, not something I do too often. Everyone has the right to dress and look however they want on their birthday, gussied up or sweats. As long as you feel good, happy, and comfortable then go for it. I wish everyone a happy week ahead and I’ll see you tomorrow for my June Favorites. To stay up to date with my social media, I have linked it all down below! ❤❤
