Hello my beauties, I hope you’re having a good start to your new year! For today’s post, I wanted to share with you what I thought were some of the best breakout stars of the year for me. I think one or two of them didn’t come out this year but they were new to me so I included them. As usual, I will provide links to as many products as I can. These links are not affiliate links, so I make nothing if you make a purchase from my link. I include them to make shopping that much easier. SKINCARE

I’m going to start off with skincare. First, the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. This came in one of my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus boxes. I was a little wary at first because I love my Roche Posay cleanser so much but I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a bit gritty but not uncomfortably so. I fell that it really cleanses my skin and leaves it ready for the next steps in my skincare routine. I’ve really been loving the boscia Mermaid Fire and Ice Cryosea Peel- Off Mask. Now, usually, I am not one for peel-off masks but when I was sent the mask from Influenster for review, which you can read here. This mask quickly became one of my go to’s for when I want a mask. It’s not as difficult to apply as other peel-off masks and it comes off cleanly and without too much effort. It has an Icy Hot type of feeling but it’s not unpleasant or painful but, like most new products, test it on a small patch of skin before you do your whole face. I really love the Garnier Skin Active Moisture Rescue gel-cream moisturizer, I buy the one for normal/combo skin and it really hydrates my skin without being sticky which was my main concern when I first tried it. This product has become a staple in my skincare routine and I don’t like to be without it. The last two products are from the brand The Ordinary which can be found at Sephora online. First up is the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This is like a mask, you put it on your skin for 10 minutes (or less if you’re new to it or have sensitive skin). I try to use this at least once a week because when I use it, my skin always feels so good and smooth after I wash the product off. It doesn’t burn or sting me, which is a big plus! I reviewed this product not too long ago on my blog so if you want, you can check it out here. The other The Ordinary product I’ve really been liking this year is the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. I only use this product at night because that is what is recommended. I have definitely noticed a change in my skin texture and radiance since I’ve used it every night since I purchased it. It’s nice to have a toner that isn’t for acne for once, and I really like this one. The best thing about The Ordinary products? Their price! There are a few $29 products but a lot of their products are under $15 which is amazing!
MAKEUP

Now for makeup. There have been so many good releases this year I just couldn’t keep up! Let’s start with the biggest product, shall we? The Huda Beauty New Nude palette was one of my first purchases of 2019 and I absolutely adore it! The romantic tones, the soft pinks and purples with the gorgeous pressed shimmers and glitters have made this probably my most used palette of the year! I believe my second most used product is my Maybelline x NikkieTutorials Master Chrome highlighter in 250. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find this product anymore but it is a really good dupe for the Balm’s Mary Lou-Manizer. I’ve never hit pan so fast on any product, especially a highlighter but I just love this highlight so much that I bought two backups! The foundation that stands out in my mind when I think of last year is the Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation. This really is full coverage without feeling gross and cakey. The shade range is decent and the texture of the product is really nice to apply with a Beauty Blender. It’s sort of mouse-y when you push the product out, making it feel light and airy when applied. Next is something I’ve gone on and on about, the Neutrogena lip gloss Hydro-Boost Hydrating Lip Shine in Vibrant Raspberry. This has easily become my favorite gloss of the year. I usually don’t like Neutrogena makeup but this is something new and I love it! It does what it claims and is very hydrating on the lips and the color pay off is absolutely stunning. There is a shade range of 11 colors, at least, that’s what they have on the Target site. I have two mascaras that I think deserve recognition this year, the new Damn Girl! mascara and the Colourpop Volumizing mascara. The Colourpop Volumizing BFF Mascara reminds me a lot of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara with the wand and how it coats the lashes. I don’t really have a problem with flaking or fall out with this mascara, which is nice. The other mascara I’ve been adoring is the Too Faced Damn Girl! mascara. This has a wand just like their Better than Sex mascara except it is much bigger. I know some people have trouble with getting it on their brow bone and lids and stuff but I don’t really seem to have that problem. It really makes my lashes look voluminous and it holds my curl well. I have never had to worry about flaking or smudging with this mascara which always makes me happy.
