Hello my beauties and welcome back to the second installment in my Skincare Week series. Today I want to share my nighttime skincare routine with you. This will most likely be the longest of all of the posts because nighttime is when I really go to town with my skincare. I’ll start with makeup removers to potions and lotions. I will try to link to as many products as I can. These are not affiliate links, so I make nothing if you click on them. I provide them to enable your shopping.

My favorite product to use to remove most of my makeup is The Body Shop’s Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. I’ve been using this product for about two years now, this is my third bottle, and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t leave your face feeling greasy or oily which is a big plus. It works really well at removing mascara, waterproof or not. I just purchased the Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm and have only used it once, but since I have maybe two uses left of my oil I thought I would include it in this post. The cleansing balm is from a company called Banila Co. and they have four different types of cleansing balms. Not pictured is my Makeup Eraser which I use after the cleanser to get any trace remains off of my face. I have both the Original Pink and the Chic Black. I prefer the black for the sole reason that it doesn’t look as dirty after you use it. I used to solely use this to remove my makeup but found using it in conjunction with a cleansing oil or balm really removed all of my makeup.

I use a different cleanser at night than I do during the day. To see what I use during the day, check out my Morning Skincare post by clicking here. In the evening I use the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. This product came in one of my Ipsy boxes a few months back and I really love it. It’s a gentle exfoliator with the addition of BHA and AHA exfoliation, it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and clean. About three to four times a week, I will use my Clairsonic Mia with the cleanser to really get down into my skin and get rid of built up dirt and grime. Since the Murad Cleanser is an exfoliating wash, I don’t use it every day so as to not to aggravate my skin.

Once I’m done washing my face, I head back to my room where I keep my skincare and start my routine. First I use my Bioderma Micellar Water to remove any traces of dirt or left over soap. I use the Bioderma made for combination to oily skin. I then go in with my toner. Right now I’m trying to finish off The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. It worked okay but I don’t think it really did anything for my face. After I finish that I’m moving on to the Kiehl’s Ultra Face Toner. I then spray my face with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile, and Lavender. I love doing this as an added step because I feel it helps me absorb my lotions and potions better. Plus it smells really nice! There are three different scents: this one, a rose one (the original), and a cucumber one. I’ve never tried the cucumber and aloe one but I’ve heard good things.

Now we’re on the final step that I like to call ‘Lotions and Potions’. After I’ve toned I start going in with creams. On an every other night to every two to three nights I apply The Ordinary’s Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%. This isn’t one of my favorite products because it is gritty but I have noticed a change in my skin tone after using it which is what I wanted. It’s strong, which is why I don’t use it every night. After that, or as the first step if I’m not using the Vitamin C Suspension, I put on my Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturizer that I received free from Influenster for review. I’m so glad I received it because I LOVE IT. It is creamy and a bit on the thick side. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling nourished and not tight or uncomfortable. My next step is on an every other day basis and that is using my Tarte Maracuja Oil, which I swear by. I do a few drops on my forehead and cheeks and then massage it in. I find that, especially in the winter, my skin really drinks this up. On the days I don’t use the Maracuja Oil I use my Laneige Water Sleeping Mask in Lavender. This really plumps up my skin and it smells like lavender so it’s perfect for bedtime. The scent doesn’t really linger but it’s still nice. My final step is eye cream and for that, I use the Olay Eyes Retinol 24 Night Eye Cream. I also received this free for review from Influenster. It’s creamy and really helps moisturize my under eyes which can get quite dry. I pat it under my eyes, the corner of my eyes, and my eyelids.
That’s it! This is definitely more involved than my morning skincare routine for sure. It has become a sort of ritual and helps to turn my mind off and helps me get ready for bed.
