Hello beautiful people, how is everyone doing? I hope you’re finding ways to keep busy, I know I am! One of those ways of keeping busy is playing with my makeup and trying new looks that I want to test drive, so to speak, before wearing it out on a date or something. As you can guess from today’s title, I’m going to be creating a look centered around the Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette. I got this palette when it came out last year and I love using it but I always seem to do the same kind of look over and over again. Today I wanted to try something a little different. Let’s get to it, shall we? 😊

Face Base:
Primer- Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer
Foundation- Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation (Matte) in 150 ‘Buff’
Concealer- Revolution Conceal and Define concealer in C1 and C3 (Project Pan)
Eye Primer- Urban Decay Original Primer Potion
Face Powder- Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (Project Pan)
Eye Setter- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 003 Natural*
I have to say, I’ve really been enjoying my Tarte primer. It looks quite nice under the Revlon foundation which is one of my favorite drugstore foundations. The Revolution concealers have become my ride or die concealers, they cover so much! The Laura Mercier powder is just as good as everyone said it would be but the Rimmel powder is where it’s at! You’ll never find me without it, even when traveling. This one has lasted me forever!

Face Products:
Blush- Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in ‘Adored’
Bronzer- Revolution Mega Bronzer in 01 ‘Cool’
Highlighter- Maybelline x NikkieTutorials Master Chrome Highlighter
Unfortunately, Tarte no longer makes ‘Adored’ but they still have a lot of gorgeous shades and tones for you to pick from. I picked up the bronzer on a whim one day and I haven’t put it down! I prefer cool-toned bronzers for my skin tone because I can also use it as a contour in a pinch. The Maybelline highlighter was apparently limited edition because I can’t find it on Ulta’s site and only Ulta had it (at least when I purchased it) but I have found a dupe for it. The Balm’s Mary- Lou Manizer is almost a spot-on dupe for this highlighter. It is especially good for fairer skin tones. It also can double as an eyeshadow- I use it in my inner corner and browbone quite often!

Eyeshadow:
Eyeshadow Palette- Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette
Transition- Feelz
Crease- Bing
Outer Lid- Young Love
Inner Lid- Bang Bang
Inner Corner/ Eye Topper- Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in ‘Ladybird’ (Project Pan)
I haven’t used the Naked Cherry palette as much as I would like to but doing this look has given me some new ways to look at it and other color combinations to try. I wanted a little extra sparkle, so I brought in one of my favorite Super Shock Shadows (it also happens to be in my project pan) and it gave my eyes the sparkle I really felt the look needed!

Eyes and Brows:
Brow Pencil- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in ‘Taupe’
Brow Gel- NYX Control Freak Brow Gel
Top Liner- Illamasqua Liquid Liner in ‘Black’
Waterline- Colourpop BFF Creme Gel Liner in ‘Exit’
I’ve been loving putting the white Colourpop liner in my waterline, especially when I didn’t sleep well the night before. I find that it helps to wake up the eyes and counteracts redness when you need it. The Illamasqua liner is nothing to go shouting from the rooftops for. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy using it but there are a million other felt tip liquid liners out there that work just as well at half the price. I’ll use it until it’s gone but I don’t think I will purchase it (I received it from a subscription service). I feel the same way about the NYX brow gel, it’s nothing special. I don’t think I will be buying it again. I will, however, be purchasing the Brow Wiz again- I love it! It’s great for those little precise hair strokes we put into our brows.

Lashes and Lips:
Eyelash Primer- L’Oreal Voluminous Base*
Mascara- L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara
Lip Liner- MAC lip liner in ‘Boldly Bare’
Lipstick- MAC Lustre Lipstick in A69 ‘Patisserie’ (Project Pan)
I used to not like these L’Oreal products but, I don’t know what happened, but now I really like them! They give some good length and a bucketload of volume! The MAC lip liner is something I’m trying to get used to wearing, I mean that with every lip liner. This is a great color, though, it’s a nice slightly pinky nude. As for the lipstick, I LOVE the color which is why it’s in my Project Pan. It’s a nude but there’s just enough pink in it to make it work for my skin tone without looking like concealer lips.

Finishing Touches:
Facial Spray- Pixi Glow Mist*
Setting Spray- Morphe Continuous Setting Mist
I remember when I got the Pixi mist in my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, I was very unsure about it because I thought it would make my skin look oily but it didn’t! Instead, I use it to melt the makeup into my face so I don’t look as powdery. It makes my makeup look more skin-like. As for the Morphe setting mist, it’s one of my favorites! The sprayer is amazing, being like a hairspray where it is continuous and you don’t have to keep pushing the button down. It also makes your makeup last all day and night. It isn’t mattifying but I don’t really feel I have to worry about too much oil coming through during the day.
Here’s the final look, what do you think? I decided on the Patisserie lipstick because my eyes were going to be darker and I didn’t want two bold areas on my face. Is that silly? This is the type of look I would most definitely wear during this time of year. A transition from the heavy makeup of the winter to the lighter makeup brought on by spring and summer.
