Dutch Dirt Mask Review

Hi there, and welcome back to my little corner of the interwebs. Today I want to share with you what I think about the Dutch Dirt Mask that I got in last month’s Ipsy Glam Bag Plus. If you got this product in your bag too, I would love to know what you think about the mask. I’ve only used it once, but once was definitely enough for me to figure out what I thought about it. To see what I think, keep on reading.

A bit about the product. The Dutch Dirt Mask is from a company called Bloomeffects. You can find them here. For $49, you will receive 2oz of product and it comes in a sturdy blue tube. This is marketed as a mask and an exfoliator. It is a clean beauty product, it doesn’t contain: parabens, sulfates, phthalates, fragrance, and synthetic dies. The product is also Vegan and Cruelty Free. The mask is best for oily and combination skin and helps with dullness, uneven texture, and pores. If you have sensitive skin, even slightly sensitive skin, you will want to avoid this. I explain why in just a second.

I tried this mask last night and I got a bit of a shock. First thing I noticed once it was on was that it had a bit of a burn/tingle. It wasn’t too terrible but since my skin is a tiny bit sensitive sometimes, it made me worrisome but it eventually went away. I had applied it with a brush so I didn’t know what it felt like. Well, 17 minutes later when I washed off I found out what it was like. It was the most unpleasant feeling. To me, it honestly felt like that St. Ives scrub with the walnut shells. I used warm water and as gentle a touch as I could use to get the mask off of my face. It left my skin bright red and tender. I wound up going through my sheet masks to find one that was soothing. I found one and applied it and it gave my skin some relief. I can see where it would be good from uneven texture, pores, and dullness. I hate it when I don’t like a product when it has such good reviews on their site because I start to think I’ve done something wrong. I’m going to try it one more time but this is my first opinion of it. If I wind up changing my mind, I will do another post.

Well… that wasn’t the happiest of posts but I hope it will help to inform you. I hope you found today’s blog post interesting and informative.
