Hello, my beauties and welcome back to my blog! I hope you’re having a great start to your week. Today I wanted to share with you a summer makeup look I created inspired by the Preakness which should have been last Saturday the 16th. I wanted to use the mini Coloured Raine palette I received in this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag Plus box. Keep reading to see the summer look I created. I hope it inspires you to go out and play with your own makeup.

Base:
Face Primer- Milk Hydro Grip Primer
Eye Primer- NYX Proof It! eye primer (Project Pan)
Foundation- Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation in Fair
Concealer- Colourpop No Filter Concealer in Fair 08 and Light 12
Under Eye Baking Powder- Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage powder
Eye Primer Setting Powder- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 003 Natural
Face Setting Powder- Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder (sent to me by Influenster for the purpose of review)
I have really been loving the new Urban Decay powder that was sent to me, I’ve used it practically every day that I set my face with powder. This product is perfect for a summer makeup look because it is waterproof. I’m also in love with the Milk Hydro Grip Primer. I got the mini because I wasn’t sure I would like it but I absolutely love it. Keep your eyes peeled next week for reviews on both products.
I do like the Wander Beauty foundation because it does look great on the skin but they really need to do something about the applicator. It’s too big so when you pull it out, it gets stuck and then you pull really hard and wind up splattering foundation everywhere. Love the look it gives, hate the applicator.

Face:
Blush- Benefit Boxed Blush in Rockateur
Bronzer- Tarte Park Ave Princess (mini)
Highlighter- Essence Pure Nude highlighter in 10 ‘Be My Highlight’
I was really going for a soft, natural look when it came to the face products for my summer makeup look. Rockateur is a great nude blush with a hint of shimmer, which worked really well with the look I was going for. The same goes for the Essence highlighter. It’s not like my usual blinding highlight, sometimes… rarely… I like to go quite a bit softer with my highlight. I used the Park Ave Princess because it is one of my favorite bronzers because there is a bit of sheen to it. It’s the right shade for my fair skin, not too orange which is always a problem for me.

Brows and Eyes:
Brow Pencil- Revolution Brow pencil in Light Brown
Brow Gel- NYX Control Freak brow gel
Top Liner- Sephora Colorful Waterproof eyeliner in Cappuccino
Waterline- Colourpop BFF Creme Gel Liner in Cry Baby
As you well know I love the Colourpop BFF Creme Gel liners, especially in the waterline. They are perfect for any summer makeup look because they are waterproof and stay on all day. I’m saving to get the two large packs of their liners. I am enjoying the Sephora liner that I got during the VIB sale. There’s a bit of shimmer/glitter in it but not a lot. It’s creamy and glides on so smoothly, I love using it. Now I want to get more colors! This eyeliner is also waterproof.
The NYX Control Freak has become a staple in my collection, I use it practically every day. The Revolution brow pencil, on the other hand, isn’t my favorite. I don’t hate it, I just don’t love it. This is mainly because the light brown was the lightest shade I saw, it’s a tad too dark so I have to use a light hand. If they carried a taupe, I would totally be set. Shade aside, the product itself works nicely for a drugstore brow pencil. It doesn’t tug on my brows and I don’t have to press super hard to get good color pay off.

Eyeshadow:
Crease/Mattes- Maybelline the City Mini Palette in 480 ‘Matte About Town’
Lid/Shimmers- Coloured Raine ‘Vineyard Soiree’ palette
Inner Corner/Brow Bone- Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in ‘Ladybird’ (Project Pan)
I am extremely impressed by the little Coloured Raine palette I got in this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag Plus! I have always admired their shadows but had never tried them until now. I used the two pink/purple shimmers in the palette for this eye look. This palette is great for a summer makeup look because one shadow can be used for a wash or you can do a whole eye look with it. I used the first shade on the left all over the lid and then went in with the third shade in from the right side right on the center of the eye for a kind of ‘halo’ look.
The Maybelline palette is a staple in my collection, it makes it easier for me to use my singles and palettes that don’t have matte shades I like. As for ‘Ladybird’, I always need something sparkly in my inner corner and I always do a highlight on my brow bone. I love the Super Shock Shadows, I only use them with my finger because I can never get the pay off I want when I use a brush. This color is sparkly and gorgeous and I loved it as an inner corner highlight, I will definitely do that again.

Lips:
Lip liner- Wet n’ Wild magenta lip liner
Lipstick- Maybelline Matte lipstick in 665 ‘Lush for Blush’
Lipgloss- MAC lip glass in ‘Heartmelter’ from the Cherry Blossom Collection
The combination of these products gave me a mauve-y purple lip but not like the ones we see during the fall. This combination works nicely during the spring and early summer. I don’t like the lip glass on it’s own but with this combination i discovered I really like it when layered over other products. The lip liner is something I bought a long time ago when I was just learning to do lip liner and it is still creamy and doesn’t tug on the lips when being applied. The liner deepened the lipstick color just a bit which I really liked. Keep on reading to see what the lips turned out to look like!

Finishing Touches:
Mascara- Wander Beauty Unlashed mascara
Setting Spray- Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
I just pulled out the Wander Beauty mascara after throwing out my dried up other one. I’m still trying to decide how I feel about this mascara. Once I have a fully formulated opinion, I will definitely review it on here. Of course I had to use my All Nighter setting spray, it’s my holy grail setting spray. I also wanted to see how the powder would react with it since it’s the same general line. Now let me show you the final look.

Here we have the final look, horse race hat, and all 😁 I love how the Coloured Raine shadows performed on my lids but I think my favorite part of the whole look is my lips! Those products worked so well together, I will definitely be using that combination again. The purple really brought out the blue and green and grey in my eyes. This is one of my favorite looks that I’ve ever done for the blog. What do you think? I’d really love your input.
