Today I want to share with you my favorite mascaras. I love mascara almost as much as I love eyeshadow palettes and highlighters. I prefer to use waterproof but, oddly enough, none of the ones I am about to show you are actually waterproof- I love them that much. It’s a mix of high end and drugstore priced mascaras. Let’s jump in!

The first mascara on my list isn’t actually mascara, it’s a mascara primer but I had to include it! I’m talking about the L’Oreal Voluminous Base mascara primer. I really do think mascara primers help make your lashes look fuller and longer and all around better than they would with just mascara. With a few mascaras I own I can get a full falsie look when I use this primer. I bought it when I bought the L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara just to try it and I’m so glad that I did! If you’re looking for something to amp up your lash routine, definitely check this out.

The next mascara in my 5 Favorite Mascaras is the Colourpop BFF Volumizing Mascara in Black on Black. This brush has a slight hourglass shape, which is something I always look for. I love the hourglass shaped brushes the most, I feel they make my lashes look the best. The brush is not flexible but it still coats every single lash, top and bottom. I haven’t noticed any flakes or smudges when I wear this mascara. It is not waterproof but the curl holds nicely. With the price and the quality, you can’t beat it. I also have the brown, white, and teal/aqua shade.

This is the Wander Beauty Unlashed mascara. I got this mascara in a beauty box. When I first opened and used it, I really didn’t care for it at all but then I took a tip I had learned from Allie Glines and let it dry out for a few days before trying it again and that was just what it needed. When I had first applied it, it was very wet and didn’t hold very well and didn’t give me a lot of volume. A few days later it had gotten better, just by being opened. Now that it’s been a month since I opened it, it’s one I reach for quite often because it is the perfect consistency. I get volume and it holds the curl pretty well. The wand is straight with a little curve at the tip. It isn’t flexible which doesn’t bother me. It does not flake or smudge on me either. Smudging and flaking are a deal breaker for me. I don’t want to be wiping up my eyes all day.

Up next is the famous Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I know this one comes in waterproof but I actually prefer this one to not be waterproof. I feel it looks better and less spidery than the waterproof version. This is the mascara that got me hooked on the hourglass shaped brush. For the longest time, the Better than Sex mascara was my holy grail mascara. The tube you see here is one I just opened. I’ve had it for about a year and hadn’t opened it until now because I wanted to use up some others first. This mascara gives me volume and curl and a bit of length without being clumpy or spider like. When I wear it, I don’t notice flaking or smudging around my eyes.

The last mascara in my 5 Favorite Mascaras list is the Too Faced Damn Girl! mascara. I got a sample of this when it first came out and I quickly fell in love and I finally bought the full size during the last VIB sale. It has the classic hourglass shaped brush but it is a lot chunkier than any other mascara brush I’ve seen, especially in the hourglass category. This really makes it look like I have false lashes on. The brush amps up the curl put there by the eyelash curlers and it really amps up the volume. It is the blackest black mascara I’ve ever used, too. I have not noticed any smudging or flaking when I wear it for a long time, which is a huge test to see if I’ll keep using it.
