A Birthday Makeup Look

Hello, my beauties, and welcome back! Today is my birthday so I wanted to share with you a birthday ‘look’. I used some of my more “special” makeup, the stuff I tend to save for special events and occasions. I still used my old favorites of course. To see the look, and the products used, keep reading!

Base

Primer: Cover FX Blurring Primer (Project Pan)
Foundation: IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in ‘Fair’
Concealer: Revolution Conceal and Define concealer in C1 and C3 (Project Pan)
Powder: Ciate Extraordinary Translucent Powder
I wanted to keep my base fresh and not too cakey, which is why I went with the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream. It has great coverage but isn’t too heavy. It’s like a go between the Dr. Jart BB Cream I have and one of my fuller coverage foundations. I’m almost out of both of my concealers, luckily I have backups. I like the Ciate powder, it’s very finely milled and doesn’t make my face look cakey if I use it to bake.

Face

Blush: Milani Baked Powder Blush in ‘Luminoso’
Bronzer: Tarte Park Ave Princess
Highlighter: Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in ‘Lightning Dust and Fire Crystal’
I hadn’t used my Milani blush in what felt like an age, so I reached for it today and and I’m so glad I did. It gives a great wash of color to the cheeks and a bit of a glow. With the Fenty Beauty highlighter, I actually used both colors- I layered them. I put the more natural one on first and then took the more glittery one and layered it at the highest points on my face.

Brows and Eyes

Brow Pencil: Benefit Precisely, My Brow pencil in shade 2
Brow Gel: NYX Control Freak brow gel
Eye Primer: ELF Putty Eye Primer
Eye Setting Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in 003 ‘Natural’
I have really been loving the Benefit Precisely, My Brow pencil recently. It gives me just the right amount of definition but is also very easy to control. I just got the ELF eye primer. It didn’t have the best reviews on Ulta but I really like it. I got it in the color white. It provides a great base for shadows. Of course I have to use my Rimmel Stay Matte powder because it’s a staple in my makeup routine, special or not.

Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow Palette: Natasha Denona Metropolis Palette
Transition: Rope
Outer V: Azoic
Lid: Noble
Inner lid: Imperia
Inner corner/ brow bone: Queen
Inner Crease: Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in ‘Starfire’ (not pictured)
I bought this palette during the last VIB sale and I love it! I don’t use it as often as I’d like but I love using it for special occasions. I love all of the varying shades of gold and the pops of blue and green. I wanted some added shimmer which is why I added the glitter liner. I was inspired by how Allie Glines does her inner corner and drags it up into the crease. It looks so nice I thought I would give it a try with a glitter liner.

Finishing Touches

Mascara: Colourpop BFF Volumizing Mascara in Black on Black
Lips: YSL Rouge Volupte Rock and Shine in shade 10
I love the Colourpop mascara, if you didn’t already know. I love using my YSL lipsticks when I am wearing a darker or smokier eye. It doesn’t compete with the colors but still looks nice. The product itself glides on and leaves a nice wash of color on the lips. It is also very hydrating

Here’s the final look. Not over the top but still made me feel beautiful. The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream really covered some problem spots well, I barely needed any concealer. What type of look do you like to wear on a special day?
