An Interview Look

Hello, my beauties, and welcome back and thanks for stopping by! Yesterday I had a job interview so I wanted to share with you what makeup pieces I used to create a work appropriate makeup look while still holding true to the techniques and products I love to use. I had a lot of fun with this ‘simple’ look, I hope you will like it too and be inspired!

Base

Primer: Milk Hydro Grip primer
Eye Primer: E.L.F. Putty Eye Primer
Foundation: Wander Beauty Nude Illusion foundation in ‘Fair’
Concealer: Revolution Conceal and Define concealer in C1 and C3 (Project Pan)
Powder: Fenty Pro Filt’r Loose Powder in ‘Butter’
I love using the Wander Beauty Nude Illusion foundation on days when I want medium to buildable coverage that still looks natural. I just got the E.L.F. Putty Primer and right now I have to say so far so good! I will be reviewing it in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back. I love the Milk Hydro Grip primer, it really helps my foundation to stay in place and not slip and slide as much all over my face. I will definitely be purchasing the full size when I’m finished with this mini.

Face

Cream Blush: Colourpop Blush Stix in ‘More is More’
Cream Highlighter: Colourpop Lite Stix in ‘Urth’
Powder Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in ‘Dazzled’
Powder Highlighter: Maybelline x NikkieTutorials Master Chrome highlighter
Bronzer: Gigi Gorgeous The Sick Sculpt Bronzer Duo in ‘Turnt’ and ‘Extra’
I absolutely adore my Colourpop Blush and Lite Stix. I put them on before powder but sometimes I don’t even powder at all and just let the cream products shine. I love the Tarte blushes, they have such beautiful colors and the formula is absolutely amazing. As for the bronzer, I like it but I don’t think that it’s my favorite bronzer in the world right now. I actually don’t think I have a favorite bronzer, I’m still learning how to use it after all.

Eyes and Brows

Brow Pencil: Benefit Precisely, My Brow pencil in shade 2
Brow Gel: NYX Control Freak brow gel
Eyeliner: Sephora Colorful eyeliner in ‘Cappuccino’
Mascara: Colourpop BFF Volumizing Mascara in ‘Brownie Points’
I am really enjoying the Sephora eyeliner, it’s a brown with a slight shimmer in it. I use it on days when I want a more natural look. It’s creamy and goes on without tugging. The last few looks I’ve shared on here I’ve used the Benefit brow pencil and the NYX brow gel and I’m still loving them. They make doing my brows a breeze.

Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow palettes: Smashbox Full Exposure and Tarte Dream Big
-Lid: ‘All In’ (Dream Big)
-Inner Lid: ‘This is It’ (Dream Big)
For my crease I stuck to the two darkest shades of brown in the matte row on the left hand side. I then used the center satin shade from the Smashbox palette to highlight my brow bone and then I used the shade to it’s left on the very center of my lid to create a halo effect. I brought in the ‘Dream Big’ palette because I needed a hint of color somewhere so I used the pinks in the palette to warm up the look just a tad.

Finishing Touches

Liquid Lipstick: Phase Zero liquid lipstick in ‘Undercover’
Lipgloss: Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme
Face Mist: Pixi Glow Mist
Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray
I love the Phase Zero liquid lipstick, it’s a gorgeous mauve-y pink which I love. It doesn’t dry out my lips which is another big bonus. I wanted a bit of shine and the Too Faced gloss was the perfect thing. It gave a bit of a plumping effect and made my lips look juicy and plump. The setting mists are two of my all time favorites. I use them practically every day.

This is the final look, what do you think? I’m quite pleased with the final product, it came off soft and professional which is just what I was going for. Would you wear a look like this to work (or school)?
