Meet the Artist

Hello, my beauties and welcome! I’ve gained quite a few new followers over the past few months and I figured now would be a good time for a new ‘Meet the Artist’ type post. Here I am:

I love makeup, as you can tell, otherwise, I wouldn’t have this blog! hah. I was inspired by Anna from The Anna Edit to start my own makeup blog. I find her very inspiring and I love reading her posts. I love what makeup can do for a person and the confidence it can give someone. Makeup is one of my biggest loves, my biggest passions. Aside from cardmaking and theatre of course. I love the freedom that makeup can give someone, you can be anyone you want to be. I tend to lean toward the middle of the road when it comes to simple and glam. I started this blog back when I was in college over on Blogspot but I made the switch to WordPress a few years ago and I’m much happier here. I love sharing my looks and reviews with my readers, I hope that I am able to help them make decisions on what to try next! I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting but I do a lot of directing and sound and prop and hair and makeup design as well. I do what I love and I love what I do.

Comparing the two pictures above, a lot has changed and quite a bit has not. I still have my short, pixie cut hair and it is still red. For the longest time, I had very long hair until one day when I went to get a trim and I made a quick decision and asked her to cut all of my hair off. Styling my own hair isn’t my strong suit but when it’s short I can style it with ease add some paste or gel and spike it out. Easy to do and looks good. As for the red hair, I started dying it red in college but never got to the right color I wanted until I found the L’Oreal Paris Feria hair dye. I use the color C74 ‘Power Copper’. For me, the more copper and the more orange the better. My natural hair color is blonde. I may go back to it one day but for now, I am happy with my bright copper hair. I want to try the Ginger shade in the Overtone line of colors. It looks like it would work nicely for touch-ups. I have shampoo and conditioner that is color depositing but I still want to try it. I’m rambling, sorry.

My skincare journey is also something I like to focus on because I think skincare is so so important. Once I found a few products that worked, I’ve stuck with them but other pieces of my skincare can be juggled around. I love trying new skincare almost as much as I love trying new makeup. I love the La Roche Posay line of skincare especially. While my skin has calmed down quite a bit, I still get a break out here and there. If you would like to see an updated skincare routine for morning and evening, please let me know down below, I’d love to do them for you.

Apart from a makeup blog, I also run a cardmaking blog called Cardstockqueen<— Click here to check it out. I also sell my cards in an Etsy shop which you can check out here. Here is one of my more recent cards:

I am also on Instagram as @cardstockqueen if you want to check that out too. Cardmaking was something I started doing when I was laid up and I haven’t stopped since. But that’s a story for another blog šŸ˜‰

Thank you so much for stopping by today, your support means the world to me. I hope you liked today’s post, I had a lot of fun writing it (sorry it’s a bit late). I love giving you a glimpse into my life, I find it makes things more personal. Leave something about yourself down in the comments, I’d love to hear about you! Currently I post every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 11AM PST. If you want to see more makeup, follow this blog before you leave and if you want to see what I get up to when I’m not here, be sure to follow my Instagram which is linked down below. Thank you again and, until next time, be bold, be beautiful, be YOU! XO Emma
