Rainbow Makeup Look

Hello my beauties and welcome! There have been a few changes as you can well see but the content and quality of content has not changed in the slightest. I’ve always been inspired by the rainbow eyeshadow looks I’ve seen makeup artists do on Instagram and YouTube and when I got the new E.L.F. x JKissa ‘To the Rescue’ palette, I knew that was the first thing I wanted to do with it. I will do a full review of the palette soon but I wanted to share this look now. Keep reading to see what I used and to see the look!

Base

Primer: Cover FX Blurring Primer (P.P)
Foundation: Revolution Conceal and Define foundating in F2
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in 003 ‘Natural’
Eye Primer: E.L.F. Putty Eye Primer in White
I was having a good skin day when I did this look so I kept my base to the bare minimum, I didn’t even use a concealer which I never do! I used my Rimmel powder to set both my face and my eye primer. The eye primer I used is newer to the E.L.F. collection and I’ve been testing it the past few weeks and I have to say I’m impressed. I will be reviewing it later this week, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Face

Blush: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Ghost Quad in the shade ‘Infinite Flush’
Highlighter: Too Faced Sugar Peach palette in ‘Peach Pearl’
Today, I really did not feel like using a bronzer. I just wasn’t feeling it. I love the Ambient Lighting Edits that Hourglass comes out with every holiday season but this one was my favorite because it was all blushes. I love their blushes and these palettes allow me to try a lot of the colors without buying the full size. I’m trying to use my face palettes more which is why I pulled out the Sugar Peach palette. I had forgotten how gorgeous the highlighter in this palette is. It can easily be built up for a nice, blinding highlight (if that’s your thing, it’s definitely my thing).

Eyes and Brows

Brow Pencil: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe
Brow Gel: NYX Control Freak
Top Liner: NYX That’s the Point liquid liner in black
Waterline: Colourpop BFF Creme Gel Liner in Exit
Eyelid Color: Stila Glitter and Glow liquid shadow in ‘Perlina’
As you’ll see in the final eye look, I needed a sparkly color that would go well with the rainbow look on my eyes, and the Stila Glitter and Glow shadow worked perfectly. I added the top liner at the last minute when I decided to add false lashes so I needed something skinny and this liner fit the bill. The Colourpop liner is one of my go-to waterline liners, it really helps to brighten my eyes. I didn’t do anything special with my brows, I used my trusted favorites.

Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow Palettes: E.L.F. x JKissa palette and Huda Beauty Neon Pink palette
Shades Used: Neon Pink, Pink glitter topper, Casey (red), Millie (orange), Yosemite (yellow), Peaky (green), Cannoli (blue), and Sadie (Purple)
In 90% of the looks I saw, the included a pink in the rainbow and I liked how that looked so I thought I would give it a try. I used the shade in the Huda Neon pink palette that’s in the first column, one down from the top and topped it with the glitter in the bottom right and I put that into my inner corner. I then went, in rainbow order, through my crease adding the colors one by one making sure to wing it out at the end with the purple. I the connected that to the lower lash line and repeated what I had done on the top.

Finishing Touches

False Lashes: Brand and style unknown
Lash Glue: i-Envy lash glue
Mascara: Wander Beauty Unlashed mascara
Lip Liner: Lime Crime Velvetines lip liner in Pinky Swear
Liquid Lipstick: Lime Crime Lip Plushies in Rosebud
Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
With this glam look, I thought lashes would be appropriate. Unfortunately with how I store them, I don’t know what the brand or style is but they’re long and fluffy. Once they were dry, I added a coat of mascara to the top and bottom lashes to blend everything together. I love the Lip Plushies liquid lipstick from Lime Crime and the lip liner. They’re the only ones I have but I love them a lot and use them quite often. I didn’t want a bright lip but I didn’t want totally nude either and this combination fit the bill nicely. The i-Envy lash glue is my current favorite glue, it’s a brush-on applicator so I feel it gives me more control over where the glue goes and how much I put on.

This is the final look, what do you think? For my first time trying a rainbow eyeshadow look, I think it turned out pretty well! I like the glitter added to the lid since the colors in my crease are all matte. I did add a clear gloss on top of my liquid lipstick because who doesn’t like juicy looking lips?
