Hello my beautiful friends and thanks so much for stopping by! As promised, once a week I will be doing eyeshadow looks featuring a Colourpop palette. Some will be one look and some may be two or three, you’ll have to come back to see! Today is just a one look day and I chose to start this little series off with the Colourpop Nude Mood palette. I actually got the palette in the Bouquet of Neutrals bundle. The bundle comes with Nude Mood, Blush Crush, and Making Mauves. I wanted to start with this palette because I think it’s a good base, every day kind of palette. I don’t always do neutral looks but with these palettes I may start doing them a lot more! Let me show you which shadows I used.
Crease: Bare to Wear (top right)
Outer V: Au Naturale (middle row, left side)
Outer Lid: Lap of Lux (bottom row, left side)
Inner Lid: Wink Wink (top row, middle)
Brow Bone and Inner Corner: Marc Jacobs O!Mega Glaze Highlighter in ‘Worth the Wait’
I really enjoyed how easily these colors were to build up. They started soft on the first swipe but if I wanted it deepened then I could easily do that. I did that specifically with the ‘Au Naturale’ color. It is a good mid tone but I wanted just a little bit more definition there so I went back a second time. The shimmers are the stand outs, as usual. I loved how ‘Lap of Lux’ blended with ‘Au Naturale’. My favorite shadow has to be ‘Wink Wink’. It’s a gorgeous shimmer that packs so serious punch. You can sheer it out all over the lid for a subtler day to day look or you can build it up on the inner part of the lid and meld it with a shade like ‘Lap of Lux’. This is a great palette to travel with. It’s compact and can be taken from day to night for any type of situation. I definitely recommend this palette if you’re looking for a neutral day to day palette for work and travel. Or if you just love neutrals and Colourpop. Here’s the look I created:
You can see how well the shadows play well together on my lids. They blend really nicely with brushes or fingers, I prefer fingers for shimmer shades. I kept the rest of my makeup pretty simple but I will list everything I used down below in case you’re curious. What do you think of this look? Is it one you would like to try? Let me know in the comments!
