August Beauty Favorites

Hello my beauties and thank you so much for stopping by! It’s the end of the month which means monthly favorites time! I love doing these posts. This month, the list is a tad bit shorter than last month’s list but I’ve still got some great stuff to share with you. Feel free to comment what products, beauty or not, that you’ve been loving this month! I’d love to hear what you have to say!

Let’s go from the base up, we’re gonna start with skincare! I have rediscovered my love of The Ordinary’s Mineral Blemish Formula which is Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1%. You can find this product at either Ulta or Sephora for a very reasonable price. I bought this, used if for a bit and then stopped. I just started using it again and I can see a change, a good change, in my skin. I only use it at night right now but it is suggested to use it day and night. I have also re-fallen in love with the La Roche Posay Effaclar Face Wash. I have used this face wash for about a year but only recently did I start using it day and night instead of using a milkier cleanser in the morning because I was having lots of problems with my skin and so I switched back to using this day and night and it has truly made a difference. I buy mine from Ulta Beauty but you can also find it on Amazon. The price is one of the best when it comes to non-drugstore acne washes. I will always recommend this product. Of course I have to mention my Laneige balms.

I’m talking about, of course, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry and the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Berry which you can find at Sephora. My favorite scent of the lip sleeping balm is the Vanilla scent, although I keep hoping they will make their mint chocolate scent that they have at Christmas a bit more permanent. Disregarding the scent, I really do love the Laneige Lip Sleeping Balm. It really helps to repair my lips each night, especially if I have been wearing a lot of drying matte or liquid lipsticks. I can still feel it there when I wake up in the morning. The Glowy balm is a new addition to my collection but I’m already on my second one. At first I didn’t care for it, it was a bit too ‘slippy’ for my taste but as I used it more I started to love it. It left my lips hydrated during the day without being heavy or too oily on the lips. There is no Vanilla scent in this product so I get the Berry and I really enjoy it. I keep it in a pot on my desk in my studio. If you’re looking for a new lip balm or lip mask, I would have no hesitation in pointing you toward these products.

Before we get to the big products, I wanted to mention the other three makeup products that stole my heart this month. I got the Wet N Wild Coloricon Bronzer in Palm Beach Ready from Ulta last month and it hasn’t left my ‘Shop my Stash’ box since then. I absolutely love it. I’m very fair skinned so finding a bronzer that isn’t too dark or too orange can be a challenge but this one fits the bill. I love it when there is a bit of shimmer in my bronzer and this one definitely ticks that box. It isn’t the lightest shade in the range but it still suits my skin tone nicely.

I guess I’ve been loving a good bronze look because my next favorite is the Colourpop BFF Creme Gel eyeliner in Over Board. I’ve been loving using this on my waterline for just a little bit of interest on the lower lash line since I’m still not fully comfortable putting eyeshadow under my lower lash line yet. These eyeliners are creamy and comfortable. They don’t tug at your eyes when you apply them and most of the ones I’ve tried seem to be waterproof because it was still there at the end of the day.

Lastly is the Tarteist Lip Paint in ‘Rosé. This is one of my favorite liquid lipsticks. It isn’t super drying and it stays on without feeling uncomfortable. At first I was nervous about the shade ‘Rosé’ but it turned out that it actually worked with my fair skin tone. I have other colors in the line that I like too, but Rosé is my favorite for the day to day. I was able to find the shade on Ulta, they have a much larger color selection than the Sephora website does so I would suggest checking there or their website if you want a good color range.

Lastly we have everyone’s favorites- eyeshadow palettes! I picked two for this month one that is fairly new to me and one that I got at the start of summer. I’m talking about the Colourpop Nude Mood palette and the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Volume 2 palette. For this summer, the Jaclyn Hill palette just screamed summer to me with all of the beautiful bright colors and the gorgeous blendable shimmers. There are some more neutral colors up towards the top right but the rest of the palette is like a sunset over the ocean. I knew I would like this palette, I just didn’t know how much. I purchased mine from Ulta.

Now for the big surprise palette, the Colourpop Nude Mood palette. I’ve never really been one for your traditional brown toned nude eye look but this palette has changed my mind! The shimmers are absolutely stunning and the mattes blend beautifully. This would definitely be one of the palettes I would take with me if I were to travel anywhere because it can easily transition from day to night without much effort.
